Medical education and specialist training
Born in Niğde in 1966, he attended Kuleli Military High School before starting medical school at Gülhane Military Medical Academy in 1984. He graduated in 1990 and worked as a general practitioner in Erzurum between 1991 and 1993. He began specialist training in 1993 and qualified in plastic surgery in 1997.
Academic and clinical career
After working in Çorlu, Tekirdağ from 1998 to 2001, he became an assistant professor at GATA in 2001. He spent 12 months in research and clinical work at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas during 2003–2004. He became an associate professor in March 2006 and a professor in 2012. He served as clinic head at GATA between 2012 and 2016.
