Prof. Dr. Serdar ÖZTÜRK

Prof. Dr. Serdar Öztürk was born in Niğde in 1966. He completed his primary and secondary education in Niğde and then pursued his high school education at Kuleli Military High School. In 1984, he commenced his medical education at Gülhane Military Medical Academy Faculty of Medicine.

He obtained the title of Medical Doctor in 1990 and served as a general practitioner in Erzurum from 1991 to 1993. In 1993, he started his residency in the Department of Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Surgery at Gülhane Military Medical Academy Faculty of Medicine, and in 1997, he became a specialist in plastic surgery. Following his specialization, he worked in Çorlu-Tekirdağ from 1998 to 2001. In 2001, he began his academic career as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Surgery at Gülhane Military Medical Academy Faculty of Medicine.

In the years 2003-2004, he spent 12 months in Dallas, Texas, participating in research and clinical studies at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. In March 2006, he obtained the title of Associate Professor at the university. During this time, he published over 50 international and numerous domestic scientific articles. His areas of interest include aesthetic surgery (rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, facial, breast, abdominal, and liposuction procedures), male genital surgery, cancer surgery, hand surgery, and burn surgery.

From 2012 to 2016, he served as the Head of the Department of Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Surgery at Gülhane Military Medical Academy Faculty of Medicine, and in 2012, he was awarded the title of Professor.
